Job Summary

The Senior Data Analyst - Business Intelligence develops software programs, algorithms, dashboards, information tools, and automations across all stages of the software development lifecycle. Designs, develops, and implements methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze diverse data sets including structured and unstructured. Writes queries to clean, model, integrate and evaluate datasets. Keeps abreast of new analytic methodologies and technologies. Collaborates with functional business units to drive business solutions and direction.

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst - Business Intelligence for our Microbial Solutions site located in Charleston, SC. 

Ideal candidates will live local and/or be able to commute within 1 hour to Charleston, SC.

This role will be responsible for understanding how to translate business needs/strategy into definable data elements that can be presented as dashboards or drill downs to granular data points within reporting toolkits. If you are interested in using your expertise and innovative skills to help solve business challenges and can understand how to translate core business challenges into data-driven insights, this is a role for you. In this role, you will profile, clean, mine, consolidate, validate, and present data to propel the organization forward. This role will work collaboratively across the Microbial business unit and IT to leverage existing platforms and develop new modern analytics solutions; support and train business users; and advise on best approaches to solve business problems, automate manual solutions, or simply bring to life 'the art of the possible' leveraging modern analytics as a competitive advantage.

The following are responsibilities related to the Senior Data Analyst - Business Intelligence:

  • Engage Business Stakeholders at all levels to identify requirements for current and future needed insights through ongoing interaction
  • Ability to see big picture and then identify key areas for deep analysis to support sound solutions
  • Deliver data dashboards and reporting toolkits that consolidate information from multiple systems (e.g., SAP, SFDC, proprietary data warehouses, etc.) into an easy-to-consume way, primarily using Power BI
  • Data profiling, mining, and data validation to ensure data is fit for use by the business
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear and user-friendly manner
  • Perform testing, resolve issues and automate testing/data validation to ensure solutions work before deploying to production

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Senior Data Analyst - Business Intelligence position:

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Management (or related field) – Advanced Degree a plus
  • 5 years of experience developing with Business Intelligence software (PowerBI/Fabric ecosystem preferred, but Tableau, Qlik, and other modern BI development platforms will be considered)
  • 5 years of experience in writing data queries, data mining, data profiling, and data validation/testing
  • 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst / Data Analyst specializing in the Data & Analytics discipline
  • Ability to translate requirements to well-written user stories to bridge the gap between business and technology
  • Strong business mindset with ability to collaborate with business partners to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery
  • Strives for excellence and extensive focus on accuracy, attention to detail, thoroughness, and follow through
  • Experience with APIs and Relational Database Modeling
  • Experience with other elements of Microsoft Power Platform (Fabric, PowerAutomate, PowerApps, & Power Virtual Agents) is a plus
  • Experience with products using Advanced Analytics, ML, or AI capabilities is a plus
  • Experience in Life Sciences or manufacturing industry with data and analytics solutions is a plus

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $91K - $97K USD. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location
