Plans and executes a comprehensive strategy to solicit donations through phone, letters, events, social media, and other channels. Creates budgets to maintain a high return on investment for annual fundraising activities. Communicates the impact of annual fund and other SMSU Foundation support to Southwest Minnesota State University. Must hire, train, and manage student engagement staff and one Graduate Assistant who make phone calls, send written correspondence to donors and prospects, and support other annual fundraising activities.

  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated commitment or proven strategies for fostering a diverse and inclusive environment; demonstrated ability or proven strategies to teach and work with persons from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience preparing, communicating, and tracking progress of a project, budget, or operational outcomes and metrics.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to use common productivity software programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience planning and executing direct mail, phone, and/or social media donation, sales or marketing campaigns.
  • Experience with Raisers’ Edge or other alumni/donor database software.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of donor prospects and creating/presenting donation proposals of $1,000 or more.
