At the heart of our 3D printing process are our print settings, the parameters that Print Optimization Engineers optimize to ensure that our customers are printing parts that are as reliable, beautiful, accurate, and as fast as possible. The Settings Optimization team is a collaborative team, with a diverse background, passionate about pushing the boundaries of print performance and user experience with our industry leading lineup of material options (40+ and counting). 

As a Print Optimization Engineer, you will be elbow-deep in developing and executing methods for improving our customers’ printing experience, root-causing issues, implementing solutions, and bringing the new and best print settings to market. You will collaborate closely with R&D and engineering teams to deeply understand the printing technology, as well as product and marketing teams to incorporate user behaviors into your processes. Your new and improved settings will be released directly, with an immediate and measurable impact for our users. The Job:

  • Push the capabilities of our 3D printers and materials. Optimize settings to achieve the best performances and properties.
  • Develop and own process optimization to improve user experience across our portfolio of materials and printers.
  • Work across internal teams to implement improvements and release new and updated 3D-printer settings.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot 3D-print setting-related challenges, provide setting guidance to internal teams, and decide on setting updates to improve print and/or material performance.

You:

  • Able to conduct a root cause analysis, considering the interactions of material, software, and hardware
  • Have experience with process optimization, experimental design and data analysis
  • Have a strong sense of ownership with great attention to details and quality
  • Adept at maintaining organization and effectively prioritizing tasks in a dynamic work environment
  • Are hands-on and willing to cross discipline boundaries to solve a problem
  • Work autonomously and learn new skills to tackle objective
  • Coding experience, ideally python
  • Familiar with mechanical design and CAD modeling
  • B.S., M.S., or PhD in an science/engineering discipline (all are welcome)
