Job Description

About the Role:

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you are assigned the responsibility to manage key components of enterprise solutions delivery and participate in the planning, design, installation, validation, monitoring, and ongoing administration of various core solutions within Guardant Health’s global technology infrastructure. This includes responsibility for ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability while adhering to security and compliance best practices. Your responsibility includes participating in business assessments and mentoring a global team of systems engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Co-Location Monitoring and Management
  • On-premise and co-location Network operations
  • Provisioning and configuring various Network infrastructure components: Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Mist, Arista
  • Troubleshooting and administering Linux-based production systems (Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows Server
  • Developing and automating actions associated with policies of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Debugging Operating System and Network issues (network, security)
  • Support and oversight for hofware projects
  • Successful coordination and collaboration between IT functions and line-of-business operations to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of enterprise solutions

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in CS, EE, or MIS or Equivalent Experience
  • 4+ years of IT engineering excellence in positions of increasing responsibility
  • Knowledge of Windows OS environments
  • Knowledge of MAC OS environments
  • Knowledge of infrastructure protocols (PKI, DNS, TLS, SSH, SNMP)
  • Experience managing cloud-based (AWS) and hybrid data centers, VPCs, security architecture, and policies
  • Responsibility for IT operations in regulated environments such as healthcare or financial sector
  • Experience mentoring Infrastructure Engineers and Systems Administrators.

Work Environment:

Employees may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. The majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Additional Information

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant, our work model has created flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $79,200 to $106,900. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.
