As a Data Assurance Vice President you will be a leading subject matter expert aligned to support the business with their decision-making and enabling teams to deliver better outcomes by maintaining a strong and consistent risk and control environments. The Commercial Banking Data Assurance team is responsible for providing guidance, overseeing risks, monitoring the effectiveness of controls and making recommendations for improvements. You will be responsible for assisting teams navigate change while proactively and strategically partnering with functions from across Commercial Bank through the design of appropriate controls to mitigate the risks. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Promote the controlled use of AI/ML/LLM technologies by establishing guidelines that holistically consider the lifecycle of development and risks associated with data, privacy, fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethical usage of data
  • Develop and enforce policies and standards for the development, deployment, and operation of AI/ML/LLM systems to support compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices
  • Lead and assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with AI/ML/LLM systems by conducting risk assessments, evaluating actions taken to monitor model performance, and monitoring for potential biases, hallucinations, or unintended consequences
  • Oversee the completion of supports and issues surrounding the validation and monitoring of AI/ML models to ensure they are accurate, reliable, and perform as expected
  • Participate and lead governance forums and working groups comprised of cross-functional teams to establish governance and control ecosystem for AI/ML/LLM development
  • Develop, deliver and support awareness programs to stakeholders on AI/ML/LLM risks, controls, and best practices to strengthen workforce comprehension and execution of data assurance requirements
  • Partnering with Digital Data Product Risk and Control officers to complete Product risk and control assessments to incorporate analysis of data risks
  • Assist in defining the strategy, priorities and execution of Data Assurance governance and control frameworks including supporting the design of end-to-end solutions for implementation and oversight of risks and control 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • 10+ Years Financial services or technology industry experience in data management, technology development/data science, risk and controls management with a strong ability to evaluate adequacy of business risk and control environment
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer STEM or related certifications 
  • At least 5 years of experience in either data science and emerging technologies with deep understanding of AI/ML concepts and technologies
  • Knowledge of technology control and risk management concepts with the ability to evaluate controls, procedures, and process flows in conjunction with business and control partners

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • Ability to assess and mitigate potential risks, biases and ethical concerns in AI/ML systems
  • Process analysis and design acumen – ability to understand a process and associated risk to inform control design
  • Strong presentation skills, including generating presentations and effectively communicating to senior management
  • Experience in data management tools (Collibra, Atlassian, JIRA and Confluence)
