Nissan Experience Design team is looking for a Product Designer to work on various products and services, to build experiences that are easy to use while exciting end-users together with the product development team. As a Product Designer you will follow design and development processes from conceptual mapping and prototyping to production releases. This is all to be done while integrating functionality, manufacturing, and assembly criteria into the experience design solution.

Responsibilities:

• Collaboratively work with teams and individuals having a wide range of skills and contribute to design team activities.
• Brainstorm and communicate new design concepts and solutions to relevant team members.
• Suggest improvements to current products utilizing new technologies, as well as new trends and human behaviours.
• Provide outcome such as presentations, for management reviews and cross-functional teams.
• Collect and analyse data for new products with engineering and manufacturing input.
• Work within defined program milestones and manage project status.
• Coordinate with the development team to work through the design process accurately and efficiently.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in product/service design and demonstrate creative proficiency with a supporting portfolio.
• Must be able to solve problems while keeping human-centered solutions in focus.
• Organized and diligent with excellent attention to detail, thorough understanding of the product development process from concept through production.
• Strong sketching, rendering, and graphic design skills utilizing design tools, preferably with Figma.
• Experience with visual systems and practices, including grid layout, iconography, typography; while having curiosity and eye for physical materials is a plus.
• Able to create and communicate new ideas both visually and verbally, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Start-up mindset in collaborative yet rapid changing environment.
• Able to work effectively in an evolving, fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a team both virtually and in person.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Design or Product Design.
• Previous experience in automobile or manufacturing industry.
• Figma expertise would be an added advantage.
• Experience building Design Language or Design System projects.
• Expertise on design methodologies, such as Design Thinking, Double Diamond, Lead Design, Design Sprints, etc.
