About our group:

Material Science Laboratory provides service support analytical technique and scientific analysis for material, process, products on cleanliness, contamination, and failure analysis under Operation Quality and Analytic (OQ&A)

About the role - you will:

  • Performing cleanliness testing process for organic extraction on hard disc drive (HDD) component and media extraction standard and large volume injection, LVI to Gas Chromatograph (GC) Direct injection both standard mode and LVI Multi mode inlet, MMI Modes and FIIR qualitative and quantitative
  • Operate and basic to advance instrument heath checking on laboratory equipment such as Gas Chromatograph analyzer (GC), Mass selective detector, MSD, Thermal desorption unit, TDU, Auto disk extractor, Rotatory evaporator, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR), RAMAN Spectroscopy and others advance analytical cleanliness and contamination techniques.
  • Trouble shooting complex instrument issues until problem resolve and documented to work instruction (WI) or standard operating procedure (SOP)
  • Advance interpretation of organic chemistry from organic analysis via FTIR, RAMAN, Mass spectrometry, Mass spectroscopy and relevant organic analysis instruments
  • Knowledge transfer to lower subordinate and teammate
  • Phase 0 to Pre-SAD (Pre-Ship Approval Document) Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and PDP (Product Development Process), Product Development Process risk register) engaging for new product and new seal drive process review understanding and be able to be the coordinator.
  • Air and Helium PMR (Perpendicular Magnetic Recording) and HAMR (Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording) Product performance, contamination analysis, and other drive project contamination & Cleanliness improvement.
  • Expertise in organic analysis and characterization of key compound on drive components, process, and integration to drive level and post-drive test.
  • HAMR (Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording) Organic Contamination working team supporting factory and some proactive design center work request.
  • Establish and validate new metrology for unique processes, materials, and components related to organic holistic contamination generated during development through implementation.
  • Baseline benchmarking pre-POR and POR, Plan of Record material and component prior to SAD, Ship Approval Document
  • Establish internal control limits, and specifications for uncommon/unique materials and component.
  • Perform standard Product cleanliness, contamination analysis, and other new product qualifications and book build alignment.
  • Coordinate with concerned parties to solve problems related to organic outgas and residue contamination from material, and process.
  • Accomplish cleanliness and contamination project improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve the problem of contamination, material, and process.
  • Perform complicated analysis services with available equipment.
  • Support specific evaluation and correlations.
  • Supervise lower-level engineers and technicians on the principles of analytical techniques and others.
  • Control and maintain all lab instruments in a good condition.
  • Communicate the status of projects and progress to the supervisor.
  • Self-leading the assigned project, delivered project metric key results and summarize accomplishments, issues, and relevant assignments as the supervisor required.
  • Support the organizational goals in achieving total customer satisfaction.
  • Perform laboratory analysis and related jobs per supervisor assignment.

About you:

  • Strong knowledge in organic chemistry
  • Expert in Gas Chromatography with Mass Selective detector (MSD), Flame Ionize Detector (FID) and Thermal Desorption Unit (TDU)

Your experience includes:

  • 3-8 years of work experience using laboratory analytical instrument and techniques e.g. FTIR, GCMSD, RAMAN, DHS outgas, Organic extraction and intermediate to advance interpretation will be special consideration.
  • Good knowledge of laboratory analysis methodology
  • Having a good understanding of cleanliness and contamination improvement
  • Hard disc drive technology and related assemblies' process
