We seek a creative and strategic Social Media Associate to join the Harmony Books and Rodale Books team. In this role, you will develop and execute visual and written bespoke book content for the Well Enough channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Threads, and Pinterest); manage and execute multi-tier influencer campaigns across titles and categories; collaborate with our Consumer Engagement Team to pitch content ideas and help design biweekly enewsletters to the Well Enough subscriber base, all with the goal of book discovery and awareness, book sales, and audience growth. In addition, this person will assist in direct-to-consumer events development and execution.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who appreciates book, wellness, and media culture, keeps up-to-date with social media trends, and is motivated to find new readers for our diverse collection of new (front list) and old (backlist) books. This is a highly collaborative role, perfect for someone who can pair taking initiative with a discerning eye towards content that moves the needle. Reporting to the Marketing Director, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in steering highly esteemed wellness and lifestyle brands into exciting new directions.

This hybrid position has occasional in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, mailings, author visits or events, and daily ad hoc administrative projects. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).

The Role:

  • Curate and create compelling content related to our books, authors, author events, brand partners, and wellness trends
  • Manage day-to-day scheduling, posting, and optimization of content across Well Enough social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Pinterest, Threads)
  • Work with our Consumer Engagement Team to brainstorm and create content with graphic and text elements for our biweekly Well Enough enewsletter; familiarity with basic HTML a plus
  • Collaborate with colleagues across marketing and publicity to develop the social media portion of group-wide campaigns for important moments (holiday gift guides, mental health awareness month, etc.)
  • Use social platform metrics and social listening systems to create reports and perform analysis for ad-hoc projects
  • Stay up to date with current technologies and trends in social media
  • Curate lists of, and nurture relationships with, like-minded creators who regularly promote our titles; assist marketers with identifying influencers for title-specific promotions
  • Attend occasional author events, in office, virtual, or off-site, to capture content and promote on social channels
  • Assist in developing best practices and guidelines for the internal team and our authors

The Essentials:

  • 2-3 years of experience working on a brand’s social media feeds
  • An interest in wellness
  • Book publishing experience is not required, but familiarity with book culture is a plus
  • High proficiency in content creation for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Pinterest, and Threads, including creating/editing video content, photography, and graphic design
  • A demonstrated understanding of the above-mentioned platforms, including data/reporting, trends, and consumer behavior
  • Creative mindset alongside excellent project management, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to strategize and create content in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The salary for this position is $53,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
