As the Environmental, Social and Governance landscape evolves and becomes increasingly important to the firm, our corporate business activities and external stakeholders (clients, shareholders, regulators), the firm has established a Firmwide ESG Reporting & Controller Team to manage end to end controls, consistency, and accountability for Environment, Social and Governance internal and external reporting processes across the firm. 

ESG Reporting and Controller Associate, you’ll support the broader ESG book of work to provide support for various initiatives and any associated controller projects. Through strong partnership with the ESG Controller and Corporate technology counterparts, you’ll support multiple initiatives ranging from regulatory reporting implementation to standing up new processes for voluntary reporting. Primary area of focus includes documenting and overseeing deliverables, tracking progress, managing the tactical and strategic book of work, and ensuring timely delivery of disclosures.

Job responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with ESG Reporting & Controller team members where agendas and objectives intersect.
  • Liaise with ESG Controllers to identify inconsistencies or improvements across the reporting & controller landscape to further refine and establish consistent processes. 
  • Provide support to commitment and target reporting processes and onboarding to strategic architecture. 
  • Develop and implement an operating model for firmwide ESG disclosure submissions.
  • Facilitate forums to address the priority of external reporting enhancements and manage change requests.
  • Partner with line of business contacts to document upcoming reporting timeframes, requirements, and review periods to produce a deliverables dictionary. 
  • Develop materials for presentations with ESG Controller and other senior management forums. 
  • Evaluate team processes and explore areas of improvement.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or other related area.
  • Previous ESG knowledge and / or project management experience.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills.
  • Able to forge strong internal relationships across a broad range of functions.
  • Self-motivated, tenacious, and able to work with high degree of independence.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with attention to detail with logical thought process.
