LG's 2024 Summer Internship Program will be a 9 week internship from June 3rd through August 2nd, 2024.

The internship will be based in office in Washington, D.C. and pay an hourly rate of $23.50.

The LG Internship Program is built on the philosophy of ensuring that each intern is given the opportunity to perform robust and meaningful work while gaining real-world experience.

The program will also include each intern working on an individual strategic project for the department and delivering a presentation at the program’s end. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide research, communications, and administrative assistance on a diverse array of projects
  • Undertake independent research assignments with minimal supervision, draft summaries on a wide variety of topics, and assist with preparation of talking points and briefings for staff
  • This internship is designed to give substantial exposure to practical political and corporate analysis at the federal and international level
  • A unique opportunity to learn more about the daily work of an international company and their DC office, including the legislative process, office administration, and corporate relations
  • Not assigned full time to a specific staffer or office department, but rather perform a variety of tasks

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at an accredited College/University
  • Rising Junior or Senior in Bachelor's degree program
  • Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and online research methods
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to research issues, analyze information, and write clearly without supervision
  • Thorough knowledge of online research resources and capacity to conduct research
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and organizational skills, as well as ability to take initiative and work in a professional environment
  • Have a demonstrated interest in politics and a broad range of business-related issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and commitment to community and social justice
  • Prior internship experience on Capitol Hill or in the private sector is preferred
  • Highly self-motivated, ambitious and willing to go above and beyond
  • Flexibility, initiative, appetite for dynamic environment
  • Well-organized with a strong ability to prioritize and a master at multi-tasking
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills at executive and project team levels
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work well and maintain professionalism under pressure
  • A team-player with an outsized sense of fun
  • Positive attitude and the ability to be proactive, resourceful and flexible
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Strong proficiency with standard software tools including Windows, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.
