What you will do:

The Settlement Analyst is responsible for providing middle office operational support to the PGIM Fixed Income business. This includes serving as a senior member of the settlement team, responsible for all bond settlement undertaken by the Investment Grade, High Yield, EM and Global Rates desks. Additional duties will include CSDR and Claims management. The Analyst acts as a main point of contact for internal and external business partners. The individual in this role is knowledgeable in operational support requirements, fixed income products, international markets and global settlement procedures. 

What you can expect:

  • Ensure the timely and efficient settlement of trades
  • Liaising with Brokers and Custodians to ensure timely settlement of trades
  • Fails Management – Investigating and resolving queries to facilitate settlement
  • Reviewing and follow up on Broker and Custodian unmatched/fails reports
  • Maintaining and updating SSI’s on ALERT 
  • Close interaction with the Trade Desks, US Trade Operations and Product Support teams
  • Process and coordination of wires for Japanese accounts
  • Investigate Interest Claims
  • Assist with Broker & Custodian feedback/meetings
  • Wide range of problem solving and issue resolution
  • Evaluating processes, suggesting improvements and implementing efficiencies
  • Gathering and analyzing data to assist with key metric reporting
  • Monitoring and/or creating daily reports
  • CSDR related processing
  • Ad hoc settlement related tasks

Ad Hoc Responsibilities include:

  • Assume ownership for any operational issues that occur as a result of a post trade event and escalate to the appropriate parties to resolve
  • Cross train with other operations associates in order to provide appropriate back-up coverage
  • Help develop and maintain departmental policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Proactively seeking ways to improve current processes by leveraging the tools available to identify inefficiencies.
  • Anticipating issues that may adversely affect operational support and taking action to reduce the risk of occurrences
  • Cultivating both internal and external relationships to ensure proper service levels are achieved for each fund supported
  • Keeping abreast of industry initiatives and market trends that can impact our business model and/or offer opportunities to improve our processes
  • Communicating operational support changes and initiatives to all impacted areas of PGIM
  • Thoughtfully assess and manage risk. Identify trends/reoccurrences and implement practical solutions to mitigate control weaknesses and inefficiencies
  • Leverage operational knowledge to increase efficiency surrounding trade room activities.
  • Support broader trade room support initiatives (i.e. Branding, Community Leadership)
  • Assist with projects and supply technical expertise.

What you will bring:

  • 7+ years Fixed Income Settlements experience
  • Some Management/Oversight of function experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Fixed Income’s bond settlements and operational support requirements
  • Strong understanding of the trade life cycle
  • Ability to develop and cultivate relationships across all staff levels
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Attention to details
  • Self-motivation and ability to work within a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Ability to organize, prioritize tasks and work in a deadline oriented environment
  • Willingness and ability to learn and train others.
  • Knowledge of Euroclear, Clearstream, DTC, Fedwire, Crossborder/Domestic, Alert
  • Skills in: Aladdin and Excel Macro’s a plus
