Job Summary:

Raymond James is seeking a Lead Analyst, IT Product Management with a technical aptitude to join our Tech group. This individual will partner with both the Business and our Technology group to identify and/or build products that fit best for our clients’ needs. Under general supervision, with a high level of autonomy, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through training and experience to provide ownership and support for the business areas systems and applications. Leads projects and establishes requirements to meet the IT and process needs of the organization. Leads agile project teams and manages multiple large, high priority and complex initiatives with significant impact on business processes. Oversees and directs technology initiatives related to business process improvements. Performs and manages varied work that is difficult in character requiring evaluation, originality and ingenuity. Resolves or recommends solutions to complex problems. Although the role is primarily based out of our corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg, FL (Hybrid), we are also open to considering candidates that are based out of other locations in the U.S. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads agile project teams for managing multiple large, high priority and complex initiatives with significant impact on business processes.
  • Provides input into strategic roadmaps from perspective of specific projects and applications.
  • Consults with the business area management team to identify opportunities and initiates process improvements, where feasible, throughout supported areas within the firm.
  • Leads requirements gathering, project plan preparation, user acceptance testing, documentation and implementation.
  • Work with developers to ensure technical solutions solve for business requirements. 
  • Develops ownership and SME proficiency in technology products.
  • Partners with external vendor technology platforms for data and workflow integrations. 
  • Partners with technical business units in the research, analysis and resolution of system and process problems.
  • Responsible for facilitating prioritization of features, functionality and process change for a given platform or business unit.
  • Trains and mentors lower level associates and interns.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Concepts, practices, and principles of agile project management.
  • Agile application development methodologies and standards.
  • Concepts of risk management, issue management, change management
  • Basic principles of brokerage, finance, and securities industry operations.
  • Basic principles of procurement, contract and vendor management.
  • Brokerage/Wealth Management industry experience is required.

Skill in:

  • Product Management experience is required.
  • Business analysis, data analysis, project management.
  • Conducting interviews with business partners and subject matter experts.
  • Managing technology products through their lifecycle.
  • Understanding or skilled in SQL, ideally an intermediate level.
  • Vendor management and project management is desirable.

Ability to:

  • Build strong working relationships with teams, stakeholders and senior management.
  • Identify and lead project teams, including planning, assigning, monitoring, reviewing and evaluating project activities.
  • Facilitate information gathering sessions ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas and problems are included in the project specifications.
  • Incorporate needs, wants and goals from different business unit perspectives into project specifications.
  • Attend to detail while maintaining a big picture orientation.
  • Solve complex problems and model the business and financial impact of proposed scenarios.
  • Ensure that all project activities have a focus on quality and conform to identified best practices.
  • Resolve complex analytical challenges, independently analyze information; and make recommendations based on analysis.
  • Use collaborative skills in using a team approach to accomplishing work.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple work efforts in a fast-paced and dynamically changing environment.
  • Read, analyze, interpret and apply information from common industry journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Interpret and apply policies and identify and recommend changes.
  • Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization, including negotiating resources.
  • Motivate and influence others to achieve desired outcomes without organizational authority.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all organizational levels.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with technical or business specification and 5 years of experience including any combination of the following: application administration, project management, technical consulting, software upgrade/implementation, technical analysis.

OR ~

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

MUST Have:

  • Experience with Agile project methodology is required
  • Experience with writing requirements and user stories is required
  • Experience in the Brokerage/Wealth Management industry is required

  • None required.
