AstraZeneca is accelerating the expansion of our geographical footprint in rare diseases following the acquisition of Alexion in 2021. Rare diseases is a high-growth therapy area with rapid innovation and significant unmet medical need. Over 7,000 rare diseases are known today – yet less than 1% of them have an approved treatment.

As we continue to build our position as a Rare Disease leader, we seek a Brand Manager to join our Commercial Team in Rare Diseases Business Unit. The Brand Manager is a full-time position, responsible for developing and implementing rare disease brand strategies.

The Brand Manager will work very closely with the cross-functional team, leading development and implementation of local brand strategies as well as securing flawless tactics execution. 

What you’ll do

  • Identify and understand stakeholder profiles, needs, environment and trends, and their implications for AstraZeneca
  • Formulate and implement the Marketing Strategy and support the sales team to deliver the sales objectives and initiatives
  • Demonstrate high level of product knowledge in the therapy area
  • Build KEEs advocacy, and work closely with different type of stakeholders in RD ecocystem
  • Work closely with market access lead, medical lead, corporate affairs lead designing and implementing winning access strategies
  • Monitor performance and A&P budget
  • Prepare and deliver regular business cycle strategic reviews

Essential for the role

  • You should have minimum university Bachelor's degree and above, preferable science or marketing
  • Proven pharmaceutical commercial experience in Rare Disease (must have)
  • You have experience and enjoy working in cross-functional, often virtual and matrix teams.
  • You are fluent in English with strong communication skills
  • You are a change-agile fast learner, comfortable to work in a fast paced environment

Desirable the role

  • Robust understanding of access and policy making landscape in Malaysia
  • Experience with access-related strategies e.g. pricing, alternative funding, reimbursement, patient advocacy, public policy is preferred.
