An exciting co-op opportunity awaits a motivated student at the Loveland, CO location beginning May 2024 for an approximate 8-month term. This temporary, full-time, hourly-paid position is open to current students who will return to their studies once this work term is complete. This position is not available for remote work.

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager, TD&L Capital, and will provide engineering support to Nutrien’s Distribution Terminal facilities within the Transportation, Distribution, & Logistics department. Nutrien’s distribution facilities store and transfer dry, liquid, and gaseous products at strategic locations throughout North America. The individual in this role would support both capital projects and operations analysis for those facilities. An individual project or analysis might involve multi-disciplinary contribution or coordination in areas such as mechanical, chemical, civil, structural, or environmental. Nutrien has a strong and pervasive safety culture which the individual must be engaged in.

What you will do:

  • Capital Projects
  • Initiate and develop capital construction projects from initiation through project completion.
  • Complete project documents necessary for Stage Gate reviews and Authorization for Expenditures, including cost estimates, project charters, and project schedules.
  • Manage projects and coordinate project design intentions within project constraints, including work with Nutrien facility personnel, various skilled trades, and 3rd-party contractors.
  • Facilitate procurement of engineering/construction services, materials, and equipment.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Manager, TD&L Capital, work to improve monthly capital reporting and data analysis for the Terminals capital portfolio.
  • Operations Analysis
  • Collaborate with Process Engineers and Terminal Site Supervisors to contribute to safety and risk management processes at the Terminals.

What you will bring:

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program at an accredited post-secondary institution with a graduation date no earlier than December 2024.
  • Proficiency with data analysis techniques and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, with both technical content for general internal and external coordination purposes
  • Interest in a broad perspective on multi-disciplinary engineering initiatives
  • Effective time management and organizational skills

Compensation & Benefits:

$18.56 - $26.75/ USD. This range is estimated for a Co-op, Engineering in Loveland, CO. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location,
