Our Legal team is seeking to add a temporary Employment Law Paralegal to provide assistance to the Employment Counsel on employment related matters. This is a hybrid position that requires reporting into our Los Angeles office 4 times/month.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review, proof read, draft and manage new employment agreements and employment related templates, including correspondence, offer letters, commission plans, separation agreements, disciplinary documents, employee handbooks, internal policies and other employment-related documents under the guidance of Employment Counsel
  • Maintain employment law files at direction of Employment Counsel
  • Prepare executive summaries and presentations, and internal/external correspondence and memos as needed and directed by Employment Counsel
  • Provide assistance in employment related research in order to assist Employment Counsel in employment related matters, which may include, but not limited to, human resources issues, wage and hour law, employment agreements and policy-related issues, FMLA matter, employment related litigation, grievances and arbitrations
  • Assist with employment arbitrations or litigations handled by Employment Counsel including drafting and reviewing discovery and providing assistance to Human Resources, inside, and outside counsel with data pulls for employment related litigation handled by Employment Counsel
  • Assist in all aspects of reviewing, investigating, and responding to employee complaints and internal investigations in connection and under the guidance of Employment Counsel Assist in preparing responses to employment related subpoenas or investigations handled by Employment Counsel
  • Assist with the development, updating, maintenance and review of the company’s employment policies/procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, and best practices
  • Assist Employment Counsel with relevant HR related functions including but not limited to: employment related advice, counseling, data analysis, and executive committee meeting preparation
  • Perform other tasks and duties as required and assigned
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University required, preferably in business, law or related field
  • Paralegal certification preferred
  • 3+ years paralegal experience, preferably with employment law experience
  • Highly proficient in MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; basic Excel skills
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • A high level of discretion and confidentiality and a professional demeanor
  • Assertive with strong and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proactive with the ability to complete tasks with little supervision
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Must handling confidential information with discretion and manage interactions with executives and colleagues with high level of tact and professionalism

What We Offer

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Decisions regarding compensation are determined on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on a variety of factors including but not limited to location; skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current hiring range is $40.00 to $45.00/hour.
