About the role

As a Strategic Alliance Manager within the Optus Enterprise Strategy team, you will be responsible for driving business value, revenue and margin growth via our key focus partner Cisco. We have an established Partnership program with major vendors, tactical partners and start-ups; and your role will be to focus on improving strategic partner deliverables in support of growth objectives being incremental market share with Cisco. This is an important role in coordinating and aligning functions across various teams that build new capability and Cisco products that are sold in market, driving peering and alignment across both Optus and the strategic partner organisations to deliver product roadmaps and other pivotal initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

  • Developing, implementing and being responsible for the business plan to foster Optus’ relationship with Cisco, and update/review the performance on a quarterly basis.
  • Defining a tiered partnering and governance framework designed for alignment, execution, and performance governance; that facilitates and leads effective partnering.
  • Reviewing Annual Operating Plan outputs and translating it into strategies for the partner alliance and specific investments.
  • Engage with key partners at all levels to co-create a joint plan and implement effectively.
  • Deliver on agreed financial measures and navigate through complexity for a blended outcome.
  • Nurture and support marketing activities, as well as demand generation and business-to-business engagement activities.
  • Supervise the alignment of training and development needs from Sales, Pre-Sales, Product and Delivery; with the offerings and opportunities provided by the partner to ensure the business is competitive in servicing customers, meeting obligations, retaining/developing people, and maintaining company accreditations.

About you

Your significant experience in navigating complex and matrixed organisations is pivotal in this role, as is the ability to build and maintain effective C level relationships within Cisco. Your experience in a similar role will assist to cultivate your success in planning and performing in all aspects of the partnership.

To be successful for this role, you must possess:

  • Previous experience in similar Channel/Alliance role and development function, preferability ICT/Telco and Vendor/Manufacturer.
  • Strategic and operational Sales/Marketing experience gained within a commercial business environment dealing partnerships and sales channels.
  • Extensive partnering leadership skills which span Marketing through to Delivery.
  • Collaboration skills and a consistent track record of bringing groups together to achieve business opportunities and solve problems.
  • Strong business acumen and experience working across various business functions (business development, sales pipeline management, customer solution development, product development, project delivery/managed services and cloud-based services).
  • Well-developed negotiation and presentation skills to support a range of externally facing activities.
