As a Barclays FX Test Automation Engineer, you will be a part of the FX Technology team, working on multi-year effort to re-build FX platform from the ground up to deliver solution that can be deliver faster, quicker, easily and with less risk. This is an exciting opportunity to work with new platform that will also bring number of business, regulatory and infrastructural changes. For this role, you will also assist with initiative to design, prototype, build, and deliver a state of the art trading and pricing platform.

What will you be doing?

  • Working closely with the development team from the start of development in order to advise on what is needed to facilitate manual and automated testing 
  • Comprehending new features in development and design the test cases that will be required to achieve optimal test coverage
  • Taking part in whole team daily meetings from the outset of a project to discuss issues, progress and blockers
  • Working closely with other functional testers to help support them in the automation of existing testing
  • Helping diagnose the causes of failures in execution of test suites when they occur and work with the development teams to resolve them
  • Working on multi-year effort to re-build FX platform from the ground up to deliver solution that can be deliver faster, quicker, easily and with less risk
  • Assisting with initiative to design, prototype, build, and deliver a state of the art trading and pricing platform

What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent manual and automation testing experience in a complex area (does not have to be FX or Banking)
  • Previous experience with bespoke automation solutions and in the creation, maintenance, and execution of automated tests and solid experience with Java or Python
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases and with log file analysis with de-bugging, Messaging and SQL as part of Server side testing
  • Familiarity with continuous integration systems such as TeamCity/Jenkins/GitLab/GitHub

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Previous work on a front office trading application
  • Experience with e-commerce systems
  • Experience gained in Foreign Exchange Cash & Options and/or Money Markets

Our Prague office is based in the financial centre of Prague. We are part of the Operations and Technology Division, and as such, we try our best to stay at the top of our technological game. However, the technology itself is not the most important thing.
