Job Description:

This role is an experienced manager, who is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions. Their primary responsibility is to the people they manage, ensuring they are developing through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development. Other key responsibilities may include developing a technology strategy and ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders in enterprise CIO teams, enterprise CTO teams, policy teams, audit teams, and related PKI Engineering teams. A strong candidate would have experience with managing operations and a demonstrate a solid foundation for process management and controls. This role will provide leadership as the team interfaces with key vendor relationships to deliver technical solutions for Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

Leading technical organizations and teams is a critical responsibility of this function and qualified candidates will be expected to demonstrate recent and long-term leadership experience. This role advocates and advances modern, Agile solution delivery practices and evangelizes great design, engineering, and organizational practices. Cryptography and certificate management is considered a key information security capability and this position will provide leadership to drive team maturity in Certificate Management Services and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology delivery.

Our teams will build a cloud PKI strategy for the bank and support initiatives that require cloud integration. Team will be responsible for designing comprehensive solutions, identifying areas where leveraging AWS, Azure, GCP can provide secure and efficient means for certificate and key management.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for team/program level resource and financial management; build and maintain teams through talent acquisition.
  • Set maturity objectives and provide individuals/teams with training and resources to achieve them.
  • Set and track quality and performance objectives.
  • Facilitate performance and career development of individuals through performance reviews, coaching, and building individual development plans that are needed to develop competencies and skills.
  • Understand individual and team maturity and performance through team/client feedback.
  • Manage relationships with the business and technology leaders, and vendors for technical products.
  • Be accountable for solution delivery management as relevant to their teams (for example, prioritizing tech debt, compliance, and security items, and supporting audits).
  • Be accountable to ensure all relevant risk, financial, compliance polices, and standards are met.
  • Be accountable for the application performance in production (system health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews).
  • Create the technology strategy for Public Key Infrastructure, on-prem and in the cloud.
  • Create strong business cases to secure funding to carry out the vision and strategy.
  • Ensure that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with Product Management, Architecture, and other stakeholders.
  • Create an inclusive and healthy working environment and help to resolve organizational impediments/blockers.
  • Lead and create followership in Communities of Practice in the organization.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of direct leadership experience of an enterprise level technology delivery team
  • Ability to collaborate and work in close partnership across teams and senior leaderships.
  • Understanding of Application and Network security risks, vulnerabilities, and remediation.
  • Strong Audit, Risks Management, and Security Compliance experience. 
  • Knowledge of the various phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle to include experience with Agile development lifecycle.
  • Advanced knowledge in deploying, configuring, and managing certificated lifecycle management (KMS), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Certification Authorities (CA), Hardware Security Modules (HSM), Registration Authorities (RA), Root CA, Thales, Venafi, and Entrust integration experience
  • Experience in Entrust, HashiCorp, Thales, DigiCert, Venafi, AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Excellent knowledge in PKI/HSM ecosystem (technology, standards, implementations, & migration)
  • Familiarity with PKI Standards, FIPS-140, NIST Standards and Framework, CAB/CA Forum, WebTrust audit, and SOC 2.
  • Understanding of X509 Certificate, SSL/TLS, IPSEC, Hashing and Cipher Algorithms, and Authentication/Authorization concepts
  • Good understanding of security concepts (Zero Trust Network, CASB, Cloud computing, PKI, DevSecOps).
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP security components and integrations
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of the various phases of the Digital Certificate Lifecycle Management
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and integrating vendor systems in an enterprise environment
