As a Senior Software Development Engineer on our team, you will bring your ability to dive deep into the most complex technical problems to take our creator tools to the next level. You will enhance the functionality of existing systems, increase our ability to scale, and build new systems, contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle including design, development, documentation, testing and operations. You will design highly scalable systems, develop distributed services, and build solid software solutions based on the real-time customer data and demanding service-level agreements. You will collaborate with some of the best engineers in the industry and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing. Key job responsibilities

As a senior software development engineer on the team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the definition, vision, design, roadmap and development of product features from beginning to end. You will:

  • Analyze customer needs and design solutions that keep the customer front of mind
  • Implement and test solutions in various programming languages
  • Define metrics and monitoring procedures to provide visibility in how your software is behaving
  • Document software solutions and operational procedures
  • Help mentor and grow skills of other engineers on the team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
