Barnes Dennig Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) – CAAS Accounting Manager

As an Accounting Manager consultant, you’ll prepare and review financial documents, reports, and statements. You’ll be responsible for overseeing a client’s daily Finance and Accounting functions, including budgeting, bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, end-of-month close, audit preparation, and other related duties as assigned. Additionally, the Accounting Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. Ultimately, you will ensure the client’s finances run smoothly.

The day-to-day responsibilities of an Accounting Manager will vary significantly depending upon a client’s size and needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g., by assets, liabilities and expenses).
  • Preparation of various monthly analysis and account reconciliations.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end closures.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Monitoring of cash position and anticipation of future cash needs.
  • Guide and develop staff in their individual growth and refinement of critical thinking and communication.
  • Analyze current and past trends including areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and other key performance indicators. Recommend resulting implications and key actions.
  • Provide month-end variance reporting and streamline forecast/budget models.
  • Provide financial and commercial guidance to help with various business decisions.
  • Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques.
  • Work with IT resources to develop management reporting and analytical tools for business control, as well as improve efficiency in all aspects of the client’s business.
  • Prepare documents for audit and tax preparations.
  • Work with Controller in setting and refining policies and procedures, continually focusing on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls and company policies.
  • Meet with clients to discuss confidential accounting issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 6+ years of work experience in accounting required.
  • Self-driven, skilled at time management and project organization: must be able to balance multiple projects and deadlines and drive projects forward successfully
  • Demonstrate good judgment and good problem-solving skills
  • Adaptable to a rapidly changing work environment.
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Great attention to detail and well-organized
  • Confidentiality with all data and information.
  • Ability to: interact with all levels inside and outside the organization, take initiative, anticipate problems and formulate resolutions, exercise good judgment/decision making, prioritize and multi-task, work independently, etc.
