Title: Color Development Lab Specialist

Location: Independence, KY

Shift: Days, Monday - Friday

OVERVIEW: 

The Color Development Lab Specialist is responsible for all phases of the development of new products and continued iimprovements of existing products. Create and maintain a positive customer relationship with continued contact throughout all development phases.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to see, judge, and evaluate minor color differences
  • Ability to create formulas to match existing color standards
  • Schedule and develop all new lab projects
  • Initiate the sale of pigments by offering our free color matching service to all powder coating manufacturers
  • File and maintain records pertaining to lab projects
  • Responsible for shipping lab projects
  • Reformulate existing productions when problems with base or other issues arise
  • Coordinate filling of pigment samples for customers
  • May staff, manage, and schedule lab technician
  • Work with Quality Control to ensure all relevant specifications are transferred when a production order is placed
  • Maintain all lab equipment, performing general maintenance as needed
  • Manage all supllies used in color development

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years relevant experience in color matching
  • Basic technical knowledge of color science
  • High degree of interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills
  • Critical thinking skills
