Group Benefits Sales Representative (Contract 14 months - Remote)

Reporting to the Western Sales Team Leader in Edmonton, Alberta, the successful candidate will join a team of five outstanding, high preforming sales professionals on the Western Sales Team.

The Sales Representative is responsible for proactively providing support to Benefits Advisors in our Group Benefits Division. The successful candidate will work to meet or exceed the objectives set for sales and retention. To manage those targets, great decision-making ability, initiative and organization is required. The successful candidate will also manage a block of business for renewals.

We will count on you to:

  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales and retention targets.
  • Perform all duties related to the management of existing accounts assigned specifically financial duties like annual account renewals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Benefits Advisors and be attentive to their needs so they want to bring their business to Victor.
  • Understand Victor client management processes, systems, underwriting guidelines, etc.
  • Manage plan amendment process.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and competition.

What you need to have: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of group benefits insurance. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken with a passion for presentations.
  • Ability to act quickly and efficiently and come up with innovative solutions.
  • Strong sales and people skills as well as motivation to achieve business targets.
  • Superior oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Designation or working toward GBA (Group Benefit Associate) or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist).
  • Life license is an asset.
  • Proven track record in supporting a large block of advisors and clients in the small to mid-size employee benefits market.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $50,000 to $111,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
