What to Expect

The Tesla Bot team is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to drive the deployment of robots for trial applications. They will work daily with design engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing, and operations teams to identify and execute pilot applications of humanoid robots in various manufacturing environments. Work will cover multiple job sites and may require frequent travel. Strong technical skills will be utilized to identify and mitigate risks and react quickly to operational issues and evolving targets. 

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with hardware engineering, design, and software/controls teams to define the scope and objectives of various product deployment trials
  • Conduct Trial Preparation: Ensure part availability, line and infrastructure readiness, and other pre-requisites 
  • Oversee Trials: physical presence during trials, communicate between trial stakeholders, provide quick resolution to any issues, and escalate when necessary to enable success 
  • Complete Trial Reports: Document observations, analysis, and results, make recommendations as needed and drive solutions. Record all issues found during trials and help drive to closure. Report progress to program, leadership, and cross functional team members 
  • Manage Trial Recovery: Ensure manufacturing lines are validated and/or restored to prior condition post-trial(s)
  • Evaluate the success of each trial (yield, downtime, cost, safety, etc.) 
  • Identify creative ways to overcome obstacles and meet the schedule despite setbacks. 
  • Motivate cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering field, including Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Robotics, or equivalent experience 
  • 4+ years experience in technical program management or project leadership, in a robotics field 
  • Technical experience with robotic systems is preferred 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to drive progress on multiple tracks simultaneously and independently 
  • Exceptional problem-solving and project management abilities 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work within a complex and fluid, fast-paced, demanding work environment

Expected Compensation

$88,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
