Manufacturing Engineering Manager
POSITION: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
REPORTS TO: Yamaha Marine Rotational Molders Plant General Manger
WAGE: DOE
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems by developing innovative solutions.
- Determine manufacturing costs using established or customized methodologies.
- Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
- Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
- Collect, record, and transcribe data showing results in reports.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and advise on corrective actions as necessary.
- Assess processes, take measurements, and interpret data to develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production process.
- Perform risk assessments and manage cost and time constraints.
- Identify, create, and apply manufacturing best practices and standards and act as a vital resource for technical questions related to manufacturing and quality processes.
- Lead process development projects of moderate to large scope
- Continually seek new manufacturing technology and processing methods that will improve the productivity, cost, quality, and agility of manufacturing developing new manufacturing processes and technologies where appropriate
- Serve as an engineering team member with a focus on employee development.
- Lead manufacturing project teams and work with site personnel to ensure smooth implementation and transition of process development work into plant operations providing process documentation and operating instructions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Required.
- Ability to demonstrate a passion for research and analysis and possess exceptional troubleshooting skills. Have knowledge of ISO 9001 Certification and the ability to query and manipulate the data.
- 5-10 years in manufacturing, roto-molding experience preferred, extrusion, blow or injection molding experience is being considered.
- Strong technical and mechanical “hands-on” skills with the proven ability to apply them in a competent, safe, and timely manner.
- Lean/Six Sigma certifications preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software is preferred.
- Experience using MS-Office Professional Suite (specifically advanced Excel skills)
PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, especially related to manufacturing methods, equipment and tooling – preferred.
- Prior roto-molding and plastics industry experience - preferred
- Advanced degree in plastics engineering - preferred
- Ability to solve complex problems and complete multiple projects, uses advanced problem-solving methods to make decisions.
- Applies proven technology independently.
