Overview:

Based in Needham, Massachusetts, and reporting to the Senior Director, Global Supply Planning, the Director, Supply Planning is accountable for ensuring the global supply of products and in alignment with the demand forecast for a select portion of the global product portfolio. The role is responsible for the inventory strategy and capacity plan that enable products to be delivered on time and in full, including new products in the portfolio. This role is also responsible for developing and executing strategies to ensure that excess and obsolete inventory is minimized.

The Director, Supply Planning proactively drives business results through strong collaboration with Global Operations associates, cross-functional associates (e.g. Manufacturing, Demand Planning) and external partners (e.g. third party manufacturers).

The Director, Supply Planning will have strong supply planning experience and leadership experience in organizations known for world-class supply chain. This leader must be a proactive, action-oriented business leader with the ability to identify risk, make decisions, and drive mitigation plans for the assigned portfolio. S/he must be a dynamic leader with strong executive presence and business credibility. Most importantly, this individual must balance the strategic and hands-on requirements of this position with a flexible working style and a proven ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders.

Here are some of the EXCITING things you'll have to do:

  • Lead a team to ensure on time and in full product delivery for both retail and direct to consumer channels, based on the demand plan
  • Own development and execution of the inventory strategy for assigned portfolio of products, ensuring that excess and obsolete inventory is minimized, and inventory parameters are updated according to cross-functional inputs
  • Own the capacity plan for assigned portfolio and provide recommendations for investment as appropriate.
  • Leverage industry best practices specific to capacity planning, supply planning and inventory management. Use thought leadership to anticipate future needs and changes that may be required.
  • For assigned portfolio, maintain inventory parameter assignment, translating inputs from Demand Planning and Portfolio management into a network supply plan, and collaborating with cross functional partners to ensure the plan is managed according to constraints and targets are aligned with the business strategy.
  • Partner with peers and leadership to drive continuous improvement in processes and overall performance. Use technology, dashboards and analytics to ensure strategic objectives for assigned portfolio are met.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Business preferred or equivalent work experience 
  • Minimum 10 years of Global Supply Planning experience; broader supply chain experience a plus
  • 5+ years of demonstrated progressive leadership experience
  • Experience leading a team of direct reports.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry trends and best practices in planning
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of supply planning and inventory management industry best practices, as well as working knowledge of S&OP and participation and support of Supply Reviews
  • Exposure and understanding of global supply chain dynamics, tradeoffs, and considerations
  • Strong business and financial acumen with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to risk management
  • Strong process orientation and track record of reducing costs, while enabling strong service. Experience collaborating with and influencing partners to accomplish short and long term business goals
  • Track record of communicating globally and working effectively cross functionally
  • English fluency required. Other languages helpful
  • CPG background preferred
  • Certification in Planning or Supply Chain Management (e.g. APICS or CSCP) strongly preferred

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel Required (Domestic & International) - up to 20%
  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate virtual meetings with other regions
