Group Summary

The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the development and completion of electronics test plans, EMC, and Environmental
  • Responsbile for test plan development to customer specifications (GM, Ford, Stellantis, etc)
  • Responsible for Test plan submission to the customer
  • Coordinates test plan review meetings internally, within Magna Lighting, and with the customer testing teams
  • Determine program readiness for testing
  • Get quotes from test laboratories and schedule lab testing dates
  • Maintains testing schedule per project 
  • Coordinates the delivery of components and test equipement to test labs
  • Acts as the primary source of contact between the Magna design team and the test labs
  • Receives all test reports from test labs and reviews them for completeness and format
  • Distributes lab test reports to design engineering teams for approval
  • Submits apporved test reports to customer for sign off
  • Generates and tracks trouble reports for issues found during testing
  • Escalates testing issues to management when necessary
  • Manages and maintains in house component inventories for the electronics test labs
  • Manages and maintains in house testing equipment 
  • Scheduled pre-validation and trobleshooting laboratory time

Your preferred qualifications

  • 3-10 years electronics design and development background 
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent industry experience
  • Must have detailed knowledge of Automotive OEM test requirements, test set ups, and test applicability
  • Must have experience in generating Automotive OEM test plans
  • Must have experience with Automotive EMC and Environemental testing
  • Prior exposure to Automotive Lighting specifications/standards an asset
  • Knowledge of Electronic manufacturing, quality, and technical standards (IPC, ISO, etc)
  • Above average communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Proficency with the use of electronic testing equipment 
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic designs
  • Experience with Altium designer or similar PCB schematic capture and PCB layout software
  • Familiar with 3D CAD and 2D drawing software

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Computer applications (i.e. word, excel, powerpoint) 
  • Ability to efficiently work in a fast paced team environment
  • Proficient in dimensional systems and analysis 
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) with various departments within Magna and with customer plant liaisons
  • Strong orgaizational and prioritizing abilities
  • Self motiviated, ability to initiate and follow tasks through to completion
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems related to manufacturing
  • Strong presentation skills

Physical demands- Normal amount of sitting and standing; Ability to move around an office environment and on the production floor; Ability to work at a computer workstation; Ability to bend, twist, lift, rached. Required to carry out job duties and responsbilities in a work environment that may include, but is not limited to, varying levels of noise and/or temperature
