Business Development Manager

As a Barclays Business Development Manager within Corporate Banking, you will be at the center of our organization as a force to drive the customer agenda by ensuring the customers’ complex needs and expectations are exceeded. Networking with stakeholders both externally and internally, you will be the driving force for new business recruitment to Barclays Payments with clients in excess of a business turnover of £6.5m up to £50m. Your prime focus will be developing increased revenue for our customers and Barclaycard.

What will you be doing?

  • Nurturing, creating, and building long term profitable relationships with key customers to ensure income targets are exceeded
  • Developing increased revenue for customers and Barclaycard
  • Networking with stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Demonstrating a forward thinking approach and ownership for all customer needed
  • Developing awareness and driving forward opportunities through to live deals
  • Managing demanding requirements and priorities daily

What we’re looking for:

  • Ability to exceed business development targets
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build networks quickly
  • Ability to drive a profit and loss (P&L) and articulate relevant drivers

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Knowledge of the payment industry
  • Experience communicating at all levels with internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of profit and loss (P&L) drivers

Where will you be working?

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
