Computing Hardware And Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for an excellent hardware engineer with proven experience in Computing modules to be part of excellent Computing Hardware team in the R&D Computing Development group.

Our Group:

Applied Materials PDC (Process Diagnostics and Control) division designs, develops, manufactures and supports complex multidisciplinary machines for the semiconductors industry. These machines contain a large amount of Computing devices which includes servers, storages, network equipment etc. The computing development group designs and develops the computing module in the R&D phase.

What you'll be doing:

As a Computing Hardware engineer, you will be responsible for all the activities and process of selection, qualification and creation of PDC products’ computing, according to predefined requirements.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Get requirements from internal customers regarding hardware modules and specifications
  • Perform analysis of the market offering and choose the suitable solution
  • Work intensively with external vendors and subcontractors
  • Perform computing hardware selection process for PDC products according to the requirements and specifications balancing between cost, longevity, reliability, TTM & performance.
  • Manage the modules integration process together with other teams in the computing group
  • Act as knowledge reference for computing modules
  • Write manufacturing and engineering procedures
  • Manage the new product readiness for production process along with other groups in the organization
  • Redesign & qualify replacement for computing modules approaching end of life

What you should have?

  • BSc. In Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent - preferred
  • At least 3 years hands-on experience in Computing modules such as servers, storage, network, switches, etc.
  • Understanding the computing modules technologies, trends and vendors
  • Proven background in the OEM market. Past experience in OEM companies – advantage.
  • Proven experience in delivery from development to production
  • Knowledge in Windows and Linux operation systems, experience in installation and distribution systems - advantage
  • Experience in large scale organizations
