The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking an exceptional individual to join the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) Information Technology Executive Team. The Assistant Chief Information Officer (ACIO) for the Department of Public Health (DPH) will report directly to the Deputy Secretariat Chief Information Officer and oversee and supervise all aspects of the Department of Public Health enterprise systems. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled and visible team within the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
The ACIO for DPH is responsible for meeting the technology service needs for the Department of Public Health. With 18 Bureaus and Programs, DPH keeps people healthy and communities strong. DPH is an accredited health department approved by the national Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) providing services to make it safe to eat and drink in Massachusetts, prevent illness and disease, give children a healthy start, respond to emergencies, and promote wellness and health equity for all people. DPH also oversees a wide range of professions and services related to health care, sharing data and information with residents, providers, researchers, and stakeholders.
The ACIO for DPH currently manages 6 direct reports overseeing nine teams of IT professionals including Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Software Developers who are responsible for the maintenance and operation of all DPH's multiple data systems that support DPH operations. As a major player in the design and implementation of IT processes the ACIO must ensure that DPH has the information and systems needed to manage its operations and accomplish agency business objectives. The ACIO for DPH interacts with multiple subject matter experts, software vendors, and EOHHS leadership staff to ensure the successful coordination of DPH activities and operations. Additionally, the position involves coordinating cross-functional projects and initiatives with multiple internal and external stakeholders. This role will serve as the executive sponsor of information technology governance processes and provide the strategic and tactical leadership to help ensure that initiatives are delivered successfully, sustained operationally, and that DPH IT continues to meet evolving business needs.
The primary work location for this role will be 250 Washington Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02108. The work schedule for this position is Monday thru Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM EST. This position would be expected to follow a hybrid model of reporting to work that combines in-office workdays and work from home days as needed. Occasional travel, weekend, and on-call support may be required.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) seven (7) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in IT administration or IT management, of which (B) at least three (3) years must have been in a managerial capacity.
