Our team is looking for a creative and highly energetic software engineer with hands-on programming experience who can lead System Safety work and craft our approach for future innovations. This work will directly contribute to GM’s software defined vehicle (SDV) system safety architecture. In this role you will innovate new methods and tools to assess platform safety and partner across the engineering organization to deploy System Safety solutions across our diverse and evolving technology set.
This position will have a focus for acquiring safety know-how and developing System Safety tools, integrating these to all platform developer DevOp environments. In this role you will have opportunities to create in-house platform safety concepts, decomposing their safety cases to a system level safety. In addition, your interaction with the engineering organization shall ensure safety requirements are met according to the GM System Safety Process and industry standards.
