Mechanics Bank is currently searching for an Analytics Engineer to join our team. Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long term relationships and working together in person. This role can work remote within our California footprint.

The Analytics Engineer is responsible for interpreting complex datasets, uncovering trends, and providing valuable insights to drive informed business decisions. Responsible for cleaning, transforming, and analyzing large volumes of data from multiple systems, ensuring data accuracy, identifying critical data elements, and curating data lineage.

What you will do:

  • Work with the Data Engineer(s) to acquire, clean, and preprocess data from various sources for analysis.
  • Collaborate with different departments to understand business requirements and design data models for their consumption.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains through data analysis.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation and cleansing procedures.
  • Adherence to data compliance via the utilization of a data catalog and data lineage tracking.
  • Design and generate artifacts for key performance indicators around data.

Who you are:

  • Four-year bachelor’s degree required in business, computer science, mathematics, or data science. Additional experience in lieu of degree: two - five years of work experience in data analytics, reporting, ETL/ELT, and database
  • SnowPro (or competitor) Certifications preferred
  • Minimum of two – five years of proficient experience in data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., Python, SQL, dbt, coalesce)
  • Minimum of three years of data analytics/reporting experience required.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, interpretation, and visualization
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex findings to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small agile team

Pay Range: $92,000 - $145,000 annually

Final compensation package will be determined by the work experience, education, and/or skill level of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
