Summary:

The role of the Associate Specialist - SAP Basis and Security Administrator is to implement, improve, and support all services necessary for the effective system utilization. 

The Specialist - SAP Basis Administrator administers improvements for the optimization of IT supported applications, the implementation of system upgrades and the integration of data and systems. The Specialist - SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for administering appropriate access, end user support, user management and application monitoring for Hollister business applications.

Responsibilities:

1.

Mentors the Application Administration team

  • Assists with the technical development of the SAP Basis and Security team.
  • Collaborate with the project management, business/systems analysts and user departments to develop according to specifications for system enhancements and functional improvement.
  • Serves as an example and guidance to SAP Basis and Security team members in providing maintenance of supported applications by illustrating technical core competencies in installations, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and sizing of applications.

2.

Effectively partners with other IT groups to deliver IT services.

  • Interacts with global project managers both within the IT PMO team and externally.
  • Interacts with the global teams to ensure effective transition for all project related activities within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Interacts with IT Finance and IT Strategic sourcing to negotiate vendor contracts and ensures compliance within agreed service levels.

3.

Maintain in-depth working knowledge of business and technology, remain current with emerging industry trends and envision new capabilities to meet business needs.

  • Responsible for writing support procedures and assisting in review of data for ongoing service level measurement metrics and reporting.
  • Acts as an advocate for adherence to all support processes.
  • Analyzes, designs, and develops changes and improvements in applications access, end user support, user management and application monitoring. 
  • Performs ongoing monitoring and review of security setup and configuration for SOX compliance and SOD mitigation.
  • Analyzes security, reviews daily operation, and monitors peak performance of assigned applications. 
  • Recommends tuning improvements.

4.

Establishes and tracks appropriate metrics and key performance indicators. Assist with Monthly Management Review process.

  • Assist with defining support processes, tools, and ongoing service level measurement metrics and reporting.
  • Documents and implements actions based on metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assists with the definition, documentation and support processes and ensures ongoing communication of such processes to internal teams and business customers.
  • Guides SAP Basis and Security team to implement and adhere to a standard application support processes.

5.

Identifies avenues for continuous improvement for services within scope of responsibility, including new approaches and processes that would contribute to improvements within department and to business growth/efficiency in the wider organization.

  • Provides awareness and debugs system performance issues. 
  • Collaborates with Sr. Specialist to analyze and implement recommendations for improvements.

6.

Assist with business consulting and Application Support to all business areas globally

  • Provides direct support for global applications, including enhancements and incident resolution.
  • Ensures timely resolution of software and platform related issues by driving support team members in effective triage, debugging, issue management, and escalation to other teams as necessary.
  • Monitors research, analyzes the system performance and collaborates with the support staff to analyze issues and effectively implement solutions.
  • Manages and supports applications including access, end user support, user management and application monitoring.
  • Works with manager to develop, maintain and implement a standard application support processes.
  • Ensures effective security, operation and peak performance of assigned applications.
  • Ensures timely resolution of software and application related issues by providing effective recognition, debugging, and review of incidents.

Essential Functions of the Role**:

Work Experience Requirements

  • Overall, 5-8 years of SAP Basis Administration
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on SAP Basis experience
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on SAP Security experience

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred, or equivalent field of study or equivalent experience.
  • SAP Basis certification or equivalent professional certification preferred

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:

  • Experience in administering SAP NetWeaver Technology including releases of ECC 6.0, BW 7.0, SCM 5.0, Solution Manager 7.1 and 7.2, S4, BW4, Data Services/Information Steward, and BPC.
  • Proficiency for supporting SAP applications various OS (iSeries, Windows, Linux) and DB (DB2 for i, MS-SQL, HANA, MaxDB) software.
  • Prior working knowledge of SAP-GRC and CUA configuration and support.
  • Working knowledge in implementation and support of SAP S4HANA technology.
  • Experience in maintenance of multi-landscape environments through client copies, system refreshes, support packs, enhancement packs and transport management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving, troubleshooting and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Self-learner and motivated to stays current with latest SAP features.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills to clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Customer focused with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of management and team members.
