We are looking for a User Experience Designer (m/f/d) to drive the discovery of new strategic opportunities and shape the experience of our products. You’ll be part of a cross functional team given clear objectives and the autonomy to discover the right solutions.

Product Design at tado°:

You will be part of our cross-functional Installations Team and you’ll be working closely with the product manager, the engineering manager, as well as other team members. Product Design Team at tado° consists of hardware and interface, UX, UI (digital) designers. You will have a strong connection to tado° designers community from all disciplines to share knowledge and participate in design activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing the installation experience of our tado° product line. This includes connecting tado° devices in the user's home network and adding devices to the tado° platform. We create easy to use products and provide users with instructions to install the devices by themselves without any technical knowledge. The installation is a pleasantly easy and welcoming first step in the customer relationship with tado°. Both user experience and seamless guidance is a crucial part to make tado° users satisfied. 
  • Driving discovery and delivery process for installation of upcoming tado° devices as well as optimising existing ones as a member of the team’s “product trio” (together with the product manager and the engineering manager).
  • Regular engagement with users through qualitative and quantitative research to deeply understand their needs and desires and continuously learn how we can add value to our products and services.
  • Observation of user needs during installation, identifying pain points and opportunities (the “what”).
  • Taking the lead in generating solutions for those opportunities (the “how”) and setting up lean experiments to validate the underlying assumptions.
  • Developing the final visual design of the data-validated solutions.
  • Measuring the impact of solutions after launch and feeding learnings into the following iterations. 
  • The role includes both user-centric, strategic responsibilities and hands-on design work. It is a full time, permanent position.

Requirements

  • You are a Designer and Researcher with a problem solving mindset with 2-3 years of experience, you know research methodologies and have curiosity in understanding users and their behavior patterns. 
  • You have experience in creating user-centric digital products for Mobile and/or Web Applications and you were involving users in the product development process.
  • You have analytical approach in making evidence-guided design decisions, testing hypotheses and generating actionable insights. 
  • You have passion for hardware products and care about design simplicity.
  • You are not a perfectionist but rather evangelize a lean way of working and value frequent releases and fast iterations over creating extensive concepts.
  • You have excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Big plus: You have worked in a fast scaling product company within the consumer electronics or Smart Home domain.
