As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Administration, we look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. You will be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, design and architecture as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. This role also requires a forward-thinking passion for adopting new technologies and approaches while remaining vigilantly focused on highly available and scalable systems.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
  • Accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
  • Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
  • Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
  • Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
  • Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience 
  • Experience leading teams of technologists
  • Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
  • In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems
  • Practical cloud native experience using AWS for Microservice Implementation
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java, RESTful Microservices, CI/CD pipelines and UI frontend libraries such as REACT
  • Proficient in creating and presenting technical demos to CIO and other executive leadership
  • Experience with Software Design and hexagonal architecture
  • Experience with automated testing and performance tuning of software systems and customer journeys

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in Acquisition Marketing Domain
  • Hands-on experience with Large Language Models and AI/ML
