Summary

The Vice President of Facilities and Real Estate, Capital Planning, and Construction is responsible for the strategic leadership and direction of all aspects of facilities, real estate management, capital planning, and construction activities. The Vice President manages the organization’s real estate portfolio and oversees campus planning, real estate purchases and sales, residential and commercial leasing, building design and construction, and facilities management. As a key member of the leadership team this role plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the healthcare and hospital facilities are well-maintained, efficient, and poised for future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilities Management:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the management and maintenance of all healthcare and hospital system facilities.
  • Oversee a team responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize the use of physical space and resources.
  1. Real Estate Management:
  • Manage the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of real estate properties to support the organization's strategic goals.
  • Conduct real estate assessments and due diligence to ensure that properties meet regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Develop real estate strategies that align with the healthcare system's long-term vision.
  1. Capital Planning:
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive capital planning strategy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and allocate resources for capital projects.
  • Ensure that capital projects are completed on time and within budget, meeting quality and safety standards.
  1. Construction Management:
  • Oversee construction projects from concept to completion, including project planning, design, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success.
  • Monitor and control project budgets and schedules, addressing any issues as they arise.
  1. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay informed of healthcare and construction regulations, ensuring that all facilities and projects adhere to compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and local authorities to maintain necessary permits and licenses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in facilities, real estate, capital planning, and construction management within a healthcare or hospital system.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proven track record in successfully leading and delivering large-scale construction and capital improvement projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Strong financial acumen for budgeting and resource allocation.
