Key Qualifications

  • 2+ years of industry experience in Mechanical Engineering, including prototyping, process development and manufacturing.
  • 3D CAD experience required, Unigraphics NX preferred.
  • Knowledge of material and manufacturing processes.
  • Scientific method, experimental process, root cause analysis, tolerance analysis.
  • Excellent critical analysis, and logic/reasoning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and people skills; ability to interact with management, team members and external vendors.
  • Experience with Applied knowledge in flex circuits, printed circuit boards, material science, basic physics and basic chemistry is beneficial.
  • Experience in flex bonding, lamination, and sensor module development is a plus.
  • Experience with 3D printer, laser cutter, and other machine tools is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Asia (approximately 10% travel)

Description

Mechanical design and process engineer will be responsible for ideation, design, and mechanical prototype development for touch and sensor solutions and technologies. Brainstorm, design and implement infrastructure for characterization and validation of sensor technologies to enable products and teams. Generate innovative ideas with cross-functional teams. Communicate cross-functionally on mechanical requirements and design directions. Participate in the development of new manufacturing processes to improve and optimize the sensor system to enable world-class user experience. Perform user-interaction experiments. Perform system-level failure mode analysis and problem solving. Engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Electrical Engineering, Firmware Engineering, and Software Engineering to develop/review hardware
