Industry Manager, Head of Technology - Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries- Managing Director

The Head of Technology in Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries is a customer focused, relationship building, leadership role.

As the Industry Manager of Technology in the Innovation Economy (IE) business within Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries, you will be responsible for leading our banking efforts in Technology and managing a team of regional and sector leaders across Enterprise Software, Applied Tech, FinTech, and ClimateTech.

The Technology banking team is a key component of the firm’s overall Innovation Economy business, covering early and growth stage Technology, Disruptive Commerce, Life Sciences, and HealthTech companies and investors within our Middle Market Banking and Specialized Industries (MMBSI) group.

Job Responsibilities:

In this role, you will set strategy, drive industry revenue growth nationally, and take ownership of the business end to end - from origination to product delivery, including partnership with operations and service. You are responsible for enabling your team to provide solutions to clients across the Treasury Services, Asset Management, Credit and Investment Banking product sets, working closely with senior leaders within the IE team and across the firm, including but not limited to Venture Capital Relationship, Private Bank and Investment Banking partners.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Extensive industry and product knowledge across the Technology sector
  • Minimum ten years proven leadership, management, execution and influencing skills, with demonstrated track record of attracting and developing talent, partnering across business lines, and leading inclusively
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Commercial Banking’s business model, products, and clients
  • Direct lending or credit supported related experience with a focus on business relationships; excellent client relationship skills
  • Strategic thinker who supports the goals and direction of the firm
  • Ability to partner across lines of businesses and leverage internal resources 
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and control framework 
  • FINRA Series 24, 79, 63 and Securities Industry Essentials licenses required or must obtain within 180 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • MBA preferred
  • Formal credit training preferred
