L.L.Bean is currently searching for a Programmer Analyst to join the Information Services team located in Freeport, Maine.

Position Purpose: In this important role this person will build low to moderate complexity computer programs to meet business informational needs and requirements. Develops, tests, debugs and documents programs based on technical configurations and specifications. Supports and troubleshoots existing applications. 

Responsibilities:

  • Modifies or develops applications programs from detailed specifications with guidance from others as required. 
  • Develops, tests, debugs, documents, maintains and implements programs.
  • Provides estimates for design solutions.
  • Estimates and tracks time required to complete work, for project budgeting and financial tracking. 
  • Applies formal methodologies when developing solutions.
  • May participate in the implementation and integration of packaged software.
  • Works independently and collaboratively with team; provides regular updates to leader. 
  • Conducts code reviews.
  • Adheres to coding and development standards
  • Adheres to security standards in support of PCI compliance.
  • Responsible for 24/7 research and resolution of production system problems.
  • Research systems problems and review findings and possible solutions with more experienced staff.

Education Level: 4-Year Bachelors Degree

Years of Experience: 1-3+ years

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Team Skills: Flexibility, Collaboration, negotiation, facilitation, communication, presentation, group dynamics, and solid English language skills and comprehension
  • Technical skills: Problem solving skills, solid development skills.
  • Technologies: Java, JSP, JavaScript, SQL, Linux, Perl, HTML, C, XML, SOAP, Ajax, Java Server Faces, Web Services, JUNIT
  • Databases: DB2, Oracle, SQL Server
  • MS Desktop tools.
  • Methodologies: Iterative Development (Agile), Waterfall. 
  • Testing: Unit, Integration
  • IDE: RAD, Eclipse
  • Source Code Control and Issue Tracking.
