Description

Procures grain and establishes supplier relationships while supporting the goals and objectives of the commodities group and the Company.

• Purchases feedstock as required with a focus on direct farmer purchases.
• Establishes relationships with area producers through consistent communication and farm visits.
• Assists with updating a database of competitor bids, discount schedules, and receiving hours.
• Assists with maintaining a regional corn supply / demand estimate.
• Communicates grain contract types offered to farmers and recommends a contract type to meet the needs of individual farmers.
• Enters purchase contracts into grain accounting system.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Agriculture Economics or Agricultural Business required.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

About Valero Renewables – Aurora

Valero's Aurora ethanol plant is located near Aurora, South Dakota, six miles east of Brookings and 60 miles north of Sioux Falls. The bio-refinery sits on 420 acres and started ethanol production in November 2003. The facility uses a dry-grind production method and state-of-the-art technology to maintain industry-leading standards in production, safety, product quality and environmental stewardship. Recognized as the ethanol industry's first 100 million-gallon-per-year production facility, the Aurora plant now annually processes approximately 49 million bushels of corn into approximately 140 million gallons of denatured ethanol and 368,000 tons of distiller grains co-products. The bio-refinery employs approximately 65 employees.
