Position Description:

The Sales Force Excellence (SFE) & Business Insights (BI) Manager DACH drives measures that ensure the field force operates effectively in the DACH region. Through frequent dialog with the Sales & Marketing and TC team as well as the international SFE community, the SFE & BI Manager develops, shapes and adapts the SFE & CRM framework necessary to enable the field force to improve its performance. In addition, the incumbent will plan, lead and manage commercial projects in DACH and develop new approaches for a more data-driven and technology-enabled sales organization to deliver growth for key Elanco brands. By ensuring we collect meaningful data, the SFE & BI Manager paves the way for the business to turn data into knowledge that leads to action in both sales and marketing as well as other commercial functions.

The SFE & BI Manager works closely with the CRM Manager, Operations, Sales, Marketing and General Management.

Functions, Duties, Tasks:

SFE

  • Set up and validate a meaningful KPI framework
  • Define SFE targets, strategy and execution plans for the field force and
  • Ensure or support alignment with work’s council is in place
  • Ensure KPI tracking is in place and processes to act upon abnormalities are defined
  • Maintain/develop tools/functions, e.g. in CRM system, and SFE reporting which support best decision making for the commercial organization on various levels (e.g. in sales, marketing and management)
  • Lead the customer segmentation process
  • Collaborate on territory alignment with the heads of sales and country director
  • Participate in the international SFE community activities
  • Ensure monthly reporting to the local commercial team
  • Provide SFE trainings/ensure SFE trainings are conducted

BI

  • Turn data into business insights (BI) and action
  • Drive the harvesting and processing of customer/commercial, market data and other potential sources that supports the business to make better decisions
  • Define and implement actions based on data insights in marketing and sales, using our CRM infrastructure as well as other tools
  • Build relationships and liaise with internal and external partners (analytics, data processing, visualizing data)

Innovation

  • Discover and evaluate innovative approaches on how we improve to do business with our customers

Lead innovation projects bringing together data, analytics, insights, sales, marketing and our CRM capabilities to predict and suggest the best suitable next action with individual customers.

Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):

  • 5 years’ experience in Marketing, Sales and CRM management
  • Vet or Master’s degree / MBA
  • Strategic and innovative mindset
  • Excellent knowledge of the animal health market in DACH and strong understanding of customer operations
  • Must have an outstanding customer service attitude – across the entire organization
  • Strong interpersonal and active listening skills / team player
  • Must have very good computer skills – ideally with previous knowledge of CRM Systems and Databases used in a B2B market
  • Ability to effectively multi-task
  • Extensive knowledge of the products and services offered by Elanco
  • Possess an encouraging and can-do attitude
  • Ability to analyze and compile large sets of data and adopt communication style according to audience
  • Innovator and forward thinker
  • Self-motivated and self-sufficient
  • Proven track record in sales and marketing or related field
  • Fluent in German and English

Additional Preferences:

  • Proven track record and work experience in complex organizations
