Position Summary

As a Professional Services Cloud Practice Sr. Director at Effectual, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our cloud services practice. You will be responsible for leading team of highly skilled professionals, defining and executing strategic initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of world-class cloud solutions for our clients. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills and business acumen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary role of Sr. Director of Cloud Practice will support technology-enabled business strategies and operations to drive increased agility, scalability, and improve service quality of the Technology Operations, Infrastructure and Cloud team. Cloud Practice Sr. Director provides Cloud functional/technical consulting services by acting as subject matter expert and leading clients through the entire cloud application services implementation lifecycle. Provide leadership and mentorship to a diverse team of Cloud Architects, Cloud Engineers, and Cloud Consultants. Fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture within the practice, ensuring alignment with company values and objectives.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with building and managing scalable cloud services, including experience with AWS, HashiCorp, Databricks, Snowflake & Azure.
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance evaluations, and support professional development.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique business needs and providing strategic guidance on cloud solutions. Establish and maintain strong client relationships, driving customer retention and advocacy.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team, ensuring highest level of expertise in cloud architecture and implementation.
  • Drive operational efficiency within the practice, optimizing resource allocation, project management and delivery processes.
  • Monitor and manage KPIs to track the success of the cloud practice.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of service availability.
  • You will create market requirement documents.
  • You will validate roadmap with Customers.
  • Be a key member of the Partner Solutions & Integration Leadership Team and provide strategic and tactical leadership to teams that span across Sales, Product Management, Program Management, Marketing and Engineering functions.
  • Manage Operational Communications and Relationship Management by acting as primary customer interface for Cloud Technology requests for assistance and information.
  • Directly address the needs of those customers and partners needing escalated attention due to acute technical issues, revenue/expansion opportunities, referrals, exceeding contractual support commitments
  • Help & lead the growing the team, developing talent with existing team.
  • Develop a Cloud Controls, Solutions blueprint, roadmap and data model.
  • Development of business intelligence on Cloud solutions
  • Work with LOBs and regions to leverage and integrate best practice, tools and innovations and re-use and build-out.
  • Evaluate the options for new technologies services, governance, risk & compliance toolset,
  • Coordinate internal planning calls to ensure projects stay on-track,
  • Coordinate with the Cloud sub-practice leads and act as the escalation point for all delivery issues specific to Cloud Services
  • Provide leadership and coordinate with technical leads in the delivery of high-quality services within committed timeframes.
  • Work with key stakeholders to initiate project plans for new deployments, and identify critical dependencies and risks,
  • Work with OM, Operations, Engineering organizations to plan and obtain resources necessary for implementation of the deployment,
  • Organize day to day tracking of the deployment activities, manage risks and dependencies, eliminate blockers and manage changes in the scope and schedule.
  • Manage day to day direction of Cloud Engineering team.
  • Experience working/managing in a 24*7 environment.
  • Establish a cloud enterprise architecture practice and team which delivers services for next generation solution development efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in cloud services with a focus on Cloud Technology Services in AWS, HashiCorp, Databricks, Snowflake & Azure solutions
  • 7-10 years of leadership experience, including team management and strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.

Salary Range for this position: $156,900-$239,200
