What You Will Do:

We are looking for a talented Civil/Site Design Engineer in our Camp Hill, Pa office.

Responsibilities:

  • Design of Stormwater Management & Stormwater Conveyance Systems – including use of AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology and hydraulic design software 
  • Skills should include preparation of pipe sizing calculations and the location / spacing of inlets for stormwater conveyance systems. This will including evaluating inlet drainage areas, calculating peak flows to each inlet, hydraulic design for the storm pipe systems and updating design plans with final design parameters including final plan storm profiles.
  • Surface runoff coefficients, invert, slope, velocity and hydraulic grade line evaluation using the Rational Method & Manning’s Equation.
  • Familiarity with stormwater management design regulations should include state, county, and local municipality requirements.
  • Preparation of stormwater management reports and NPDES permit applications for post development stormwater discharge permits.
  • Site Grading Design that incorporated the needs of the site to direct stormwater to collection points, eliminated ponding or flooding of the site, reduces the risks of erosion, and the incorporation of surface storm water management facilities to meet regulatory requirements, while consideration of ADA regulations.
  • Soil Erosion & Sediment (E&S) Control Design to meet the requirements of County Conservation Districts and / or state environmental regulatory agencies. This will include the need to provide stability calculations, incorporation of Best Management Practices, swale design, spillway design, and determination of construction sequence all to limit the risk of sediment from leaving the construction site.
  • Preparation of PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) applications for driveways, intersections, utility crossings within the state right-of-way.
  • Preparation of State General Permits (GP) applications relating to the impacts to waterways and wetlands.
  • Attendance at client meetings, which would include design, review, or construction meetings. This would include performing site observations during construction and providing field reports documenting the site review.
  • Occasional Site Investigation & Due Diligence – Includes the review of ordinances, utility service availability, and outside agency regulations related to assessing site development potential. 

Education | Experience:

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) for BSCE candidates
  • 2-5 years of residential, industrial, institutional and/or commercial site design and permitting experience
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D including hydra flow ,stormwater design software.
  • Excel, Word
  • Proficient MS office to include Excel and Word
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Some knowledge of site planning and zoning process, including ADA requirements is a plus
  • Self-starter who is resourceful and creative, and can work independently and with team members
  • Experience dealing with regulatory review agencies and review professionals a plus
