Job Description

The Senior Marketing Manager / Head of Marketing reports directly to the Vice President, General Manager at Rocketbook and is a member of the Rocketbook Leadership Team. This is a critical position that leads the delivery of the in-year commercial P&L and market share objectives. This role is responsible for developing the break-through resusable smart notebook category, brand growth strategy, creating a viral brand identity, thumb stopping creative, launching key innovation initiatives, and optimizing the marketing mix across Retail (Amazon) & Paid media mix (social/search), PR, and B2B. The Head of Marketing is highly connected to the digital landscape and has experience in building digital native brands withing the context of an agile start-up environment and experience of scaling a growing brand/business across channels. 

The Head of Marketing is obsessed with digital and has a growth marketing mindset using consumer insight and data to guide action and rapid optimization. This is a hands-on role, which is responsible for:

  • Develops, leads and executes strategic marketing plans to deliver against annual brand targets. Monitors progress and provides proactive recommendations to course correct if off-track.
  • Leads overall consumer journey mapping and strategy to deploy relevant messaging and creative through the right marketing channels across the consumer purchase pathway
  • Develops disruptive creative campaigns to be executed across multiple touch points including digital, eCommerce, social, and in-store
  • Leads marketing team across social, creative, community management, and customer happiness
  • Work closely across teams business development, ecommerce, social media and creative, to develop integrated marketing strategies with overall accountability to brand consistency and relevancy.
  • Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape, develop competitive strategies to stay ahead of competitors.
  • Is the visionary for the brand using consumer insights and fast experimentation of creative hooks to gain relevancy, interest, trial, and conversion
  • Oversees creative/content development for eCommerce, digital/retail media, and customer channels with agency support
  • Day to day management across agencies including paid/retail/PR and owns all media planning, execution, and optimization with agency support
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance data to identify areas of opportunity for optimization.
  • Actively seek new revenue stream opportunities through digital channels
  • Ensures smooth operation of the day-to-day functions of the brand, including ROI measurement, budget management, invoicing, licenses, custom item development, and SKU management.
  • Supports sales materials development, category selling stories, and presentations. Provides strategic input to the overall short and long-term new product development agenda.
  • Identify and evaluate brand opportunities, partnerships, and sponsorships aligned with business goals and brand strategy
  • Stays updated on competitive and media landscape changes through brand audits and maintains an external orientation
  • Leads commercialization of new product launches and ongoing portfolio strategy/optimization with focus on profitable growth
  • Leads packaging design and communication strategy across the Rocketbook portfolio with consideration of on and offline channels
  • Problem-solve creatively and effectively to successfully bring brand concepts and strategies to market
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, and share insights with the team
  • Key contributor to monthly company business reviews
  • Manage and deliver weekly/monthly reporting of appropriate success metrics and key data points, update executive dashboards and opportunities for growth
  • Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly dashboards with insights and actions. Also, provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by team members and business partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (MBA in Marketing strongly preferred)
  • 8-10 years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods or the equivalent
  • Experience as Brand Manager, added performance/digital marketing is a plus
  • Strong experience with Amazon Retail Media, SEM/SEO, Social (Meta), PR, Influencer marketing
  • Preferred digital native brand building in start-up environment in addition to small/medium sized CPG
  • Strong eCommerce acumen and ability to move with speed and agility based on media/platform data/insights
  • Experience working with syndicated data (IRI or Nielsen, etc)
  • Solid MS Office skills – PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Demonstrated project and product management expertise.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively organize, analyze, and present data with solutions
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate solid leadership qualities
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority
