Having recently joined the Association of American Universities (AAU), GW is at an exciting moment in its history and trajectory, and GWLAI is a key partner in supporting the university’s research and scholarly advancements and promoting discoveries and innovations made by the research community.

The Associate Dean, Teaching and Learning Excellence will lead the ongoing enhancement of GW’s programs that encourage, support, and assess pedagogical practice in face-to-face, hybrid, and online instruction. To this end, the incumbent will manage the Instructional Core unit comprised of:

GWLAI seeks a creative thought leader with management and instructional experience to lead this high-functioning unit as they enable curricular transformation at GW with pedagogically sound teaching tools and methods. The successful candidate should aspire to further elevate the prominence of the Instructional Core, boosting its recognition as a leader in promoting pedagogical excellence. This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Dean of Libraries and Academic Innovation. As a member of the GWLAI Senior Leadership Team, the incumbent will work in collaboration with other Associate Deans to leverage talents across the organization in promoting excellence in teaching and learning.

The incumbent is responsible for the following duties:
