The Operations Reporting Analyst plays a critical role supporting healthcare operational areas through the design, development, and management of metrics, reports and analyses to help drive key business decisions. You will work closely with customers in Operations to provide production reports for tactical purposes, dashboards for oversight and overall data analysis to inform strategic decision-making. You will analyze business needs, elicit user requirements, develop and disseminate reports. You will integrate data from a variety of sources to develop dashboards to be used by leaders in Operations. You will be partners with customers to design meaningful metrics, provide insights and identify improvement opportunities.

Please note that while SFHP supports a hybrid work environment, this role will be required to be onsite and in-office a minimum of 4 days per month.

Salary range: $83,786 - $94,259/year

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Support Operations business units by working to define, understand and document report requirements, translating business needs into defined report requirements
  • Understand and propose reports that seek to provide information needed by business units
  • Use in-depth knowledge of managed care principals, statistical analysis, and healthcare data to support critical business needs
  • Develop reports, dashboards and management summaries which present data in a professional, concise and readable format appropriate for audience
  • Analyze large sets of complex data and communicate findings
  • Communicate and present end results of project outcomes and business processes
  • Present complex analysis and findings in a simple and concise manner
  • Assess new report requests to ensure non-redundant, reliable, and accurate information is provided and meets the business need
  • Work with Information Technology Services to maintain software used to produce reports and dashboards
  • Gather supplementary data from various sources; exploring data using quantitative, and visualization tools
  • Create thorough and consistent documentation for the programs used to create routine reports and the databases/data attributes used in routine reporting
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for data from Operations business units or leadership
  • Using intermediate SQL, design, develop and execute processes to run scheduled short term ad hoc reporting
  • Conduct and continuously improve reporting to ensure reliability, validity and integrity of the data used in management reporting and analysis
  • Develops tracking tools to log errors, requests for modifications, reporting schedule and other related activities associated with regularly scheduled reporting
  • Ensure that copies of Operation metrics are published and kept updated in shared directory
  • Information analyst duties, e.g. conduct analysis and make recommendations to business unit based on findings of analysis
  • Data analyst duties, e.g., help define business rules applicable to the development of the report
  • Perform consistent quality review of data, communicate results/findings and contribute to improvements/solutions; act as a data steward, supporting SFHP’s Data Governance, in partnership with the Business Analytics and Information Technology Services departments
  • Create partnerships with internal resources and leaders to drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making and use of MicroStrategy application across Operations

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Three years of reporting or analytical experience with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement required
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or other related fields; or equivalent work experience
  • Intermediate SQL
  • Working business knowledge of business intelligence concepts and Tableau preferred
  • Ability to define and translate report requirements from business into technical language
  • Intermediate Excel
  • Ability to produce accurate and precise work, detect discrepancies and resolve discrepancies while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively, independently, and as part of a team
  • Outstanding written and oral communication and presentation/training skills; ability to effectively communicate with staff, management and executives
  • Strong client services orientation with emphasis on quality of services, client support and responsiveness
  • Strong organization and time management skills with multi-tasking abilities
