Responsibilities:

The Graduate Student Grant Writer will work directly with the Senior Director of the Innovation Center and will be responsible for researching, writing, and preparing drafts for grant proposals. This position is intended for a graduate student seeking professional development in the grant writing field while contributing to the growth and capacity of the center.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Senior Director, Innovation Center, and other stakeholders to gather information and data necessary for proposal development
  • Conduct research for relevant potential grant opportunities and evaluate their alignment with the organization’s goals and priorities
  • Write and edit drafts of grant proposals, ensuring they are clear and concise
  • Track grant progress and ensure that all grant requirements are met
  • Coordinate grant application timelines and submission of proposals
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grant writing activity, including drafts, deadlines, reporting requirements, and outcome measures
  • Follow-up on developments in the grant writing field, including new funding opportunities and changes in grant-making policies and procedures

Work mode: Hybrid

Pay rate: $20-21

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student in a relevant field, demonstrated interest in nonprofit and grants management, public policy, or strategic communications
  • Strong research and writing skills, with demonstrated experience in grant writing or related fields
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Familiarity with the fundraising landscape
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passionate about the mission and values of the organization
  • Ability to adhere to University COVID-19 Policy
