This is an exciting opportunity for a proven senior sales leader. The VP, Business Development will report to the Chief Growth Officer and will be responsible for identifying and closing new sales and revenue. This individual will collaborate closely with Marketing, Client Solutions team, CMO and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to originate and capture new business. The goal is to drive growth in our core business and to assist in strengthening our market presence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner Origination of new pipeline opportunities at identified target health plans, channel partners and strategic account
  • Drive sales activity with a team sales approach developing winning and compelling win strategies and proposals
  • Develop capture tactics, win strategies, competitive analysis and teaming strategies that balance risk and reward with minimal oversight
  • Build senior client relationships with decision makers at prospect accounts
  • Leads cross functional teams including marketing, business development, client solutions, legal, contracting and operations to develop and close new business
  • Execution of the entire sales cycle from setting initial conversations to close, working collaboratively with the AbleTo Senior Leadership Team
  • Accurate pipeline management and communication of status of deals as well as regular contribution to forecast updates
  • Leads negotiation of financial and other commercial aspects of deals
  • Effective transition and oversight of customer on-boarding in partnership with the Client Solutions and Account Management teams

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in consultative sales of complex solutions or services to national and large regional health insurance plans (specifically selling services, not pure tech or SaaS)
  • Demonstrable experience gaining senior level access and building relationships with key leaders at health plans: Chief Medical Officers, P&L Leaders, Heads of Behavioral Health, Product
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue goals
  • Proven success in proactively planning, managing and executing the sales process
  • Proven ability to identify and translate health insurance plans’ business challenges into requirements and match them with AbleTo’s services to create a compelling and differentiated value proposition
  • Travel to client locations – 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal consultative sales training
  • Experience working for a health insurance plan

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $90,000 to $180,000 per year. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance.
