Amazon Community Operations, is looking for a Sr. Manager, Business Intelligence who possesses a strong background in data (internal and external) extraction and summarization, visual analytics, predictive analytics, statistics/Machine Learning, automation, and developing business/customer insights.

In this role, you will lead a team of BIE and DE focused on timely, relevant, and actionable insights, intelligence and recommendations with a core mission to help improve Amazon’s presence in communities. You will work alongside a dynamic group of business owners, Product Managers and Scientists where agility, velocity, team work and creative thinking are highly valued. You will have a passion for the mentorship, growth and development of your team and will actively seek out opportunities to make space and ensure their achievements are visible and recognized.

The ideal candidate will earn trust through delivering results and relationship building; this person will have a strong business acumen that allows them to strategically and analytically think about community challenges and their relation to the business, and will have the ability to synthesize requirements into new data and analytics solutions. The candidate will build and lead with a bias towards problem solving, a passion for automation, and the foresight to anticipate business needs, make trade-offs, and balance business dynamics despite constraints.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of Business Intelligence and Data Engineers.
  • Lead a team to create actionable insights to answer business questions, drive decisions, and develop recommendations to improve operations.
  • Define and drive our business intelligence and visualization strategy and roadmap.
  • Present analysis and recommendations to senior leaders, using data-driven storytelling and influence to drive improvements in business operations and strategic change.
  • Collaborate with product management, program management, and data science to design and develop information management capabilities.
  • Lead the governance of key business metrics, drive the vision and building of automated dashboards and self-service analytic capabilities, and engineer data-driven processes that drive business value.
  • Own the design, development, maintenance, and automation of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
  • Adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
  • Drive technical decisions: you will oversee your team’s design, implementation and testing, by providing feedback to ensure they are efficiently delivering high quality products and meeting the needs of our internal customers.
  • Drive a Business Intelligence roadmap; prioritize business insight requests to balance the tactical and strategic information needs of the business.
  • Collaborate and partner with stakeholders to understand, anticipate, and respond to current and future information needs.
  • Travel 15% each quarter.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $265,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
