Job description

In this internship you will get experience with:

  • Implementation of Machine Learning models to address Power & Signal Integrity problems of the complete system
  • Integration of Machine Learning models into circuit simulation environment
  • Validation of modelling accuracy with simulations/measurements
  • Enablement of a simulation framework for the evaluation and optimization of designs at an early stage

Your Profile

You successfully meet the requirements, if you are a motivated and committed Master student from the field of Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics or similar. You are best equipped for this task if you additionally offer:

  • Experience in working with Machine Learning models (classifications, regressions, neural networks) and Python programming
  • Willingness to work in a challenging environment within a highly motivated international team
  • Knowledge of SPICE circuit simulation or an electromagnetic simulation tool is beneficial 
  • A structured and precise working style
  • Fluent English skills, German as a plus

This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry (full-time), employment group D for master students (https://www.feei.at/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/minimum-salaries-white-collar-workers-2023.pdf).

With the increasing IC design complexity & heterogeneous integration, simulation time for conventional modelling & optimization is becoming too slow with limited insight of the full design space. Machine Learning models can be deployed at different design stage depending on the required accuracy to quickly assess and optimize design performance reducing overall cost & time-to-market.
