About the Role

Engineers Gate (EG) is a leading quantitative investment company focused on computer-driven trading in global financial markets. We are a team of researchers, engineers, and financial industry professionals using sophisticated statistical models to analyze data and identify predictive signals to generate superior investment returns. EG’s investment teams each focus on their independent strategies while utilizing the firm’s proprietary, state-of-the-art technology and data platform to optimize their alpha research.

We are in search of a seasoned Full Stack Web Developer to join one of our systematic trading teams and drive the design and deployment of a web application to facilitate a new style of alpha research that we believe will be critical to the Firm’s growth. The Web Developer will be tasked with designing a web application to interface with an existing computational framework, making it easily accessible to non-developer end-users. This entirely greenfield project offers an opportunity to have a significant influence regarding the choice of technologies to be used rather than inheriting an existing code base. The team operates with a flat organizational structure with few formalities so the Web Developer will be expected to make critical decisions autonomously with minimal input. The successful candidate should have a strong background in web development and design and the ability to work independently and effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders with different skill sets.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently design, develop, and implement the SaaS product from conceptualization to deployment and ensure exceptional in-product user experience.
• Drive front-end development to craft intuitive user interfaces.
• Architect and develop APIs leveraging cloud infrastructure, microservices, and caching mechanisms to optimize performance.
• Innovate and refine solutions to complex data challenges to meet evolving needs.
• Act as a liaison with technical and non-technical stakeholders, effectively communicating complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Take ownership of the project, making critical decisions autonomously while seeking minimal input from the team.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Web Developer, with a strong Python and JavaScript skills.
• Experience with modern front-end technologies
• Proficiency in data visualization is advantageous.
• Previous experience in systems design and SaaS is a plus.
• Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects with sound judgment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

The salary for this role is anticipated to be between $125,000 and $150,000. This range does not include any potential bonus amounts, other forms of compensation, or benefits offered. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s skills, qualifications, education and experience.
